Foundation Milestones

Since the Foundation was established, the Board of Directors have approved donations totaling $135,000.

Some of the Foundation’s most recent donations include the following:

LaSalle College High School

Board approved a $33,000 donation to further support the Matty Ice Kelly ‘03 Endowment. This payment positions us to meet the goal of raising the minimum amount required by Lasalle to initiate Endowment scholarships. Now that this milestone has been achieved, the annual income earned by the Endowment will be directed toward a student with need who participates in LaSalle’s soccer program. The scholarship will commence with the school year 2026-2027.

Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast High School

Board approved a $5,000 donation to Bonner/Prendie for the purpose of supporting the school’s scholarship program. Funds will be directed toward students from under resourced families. This represents our recognition of Anne Kelly a proud and loyal member of Prendie’s Class of 1976.

Assistance League (AL)

Board approved a $5,000 donation to the Assistance League of Santa Ana, CA. AL is one of the pioneering nonprofit organizations in the United States. Established in 1935, it empowers ordinary citizens to improve communities and transform lives through long-term volunteerism. Their efforts serve the unique needs and challenges for students, children and families in southern California. These services include clothing, feeding and educating disadvantaged children, dental care and college scholarships while also providing basic needs to senior citizens and the homeless.

Bringing Hope Home (BHH), Malvern, PA

Board approved a $5,000 donation to BHH. This non-profit organization provides Unexpected Amazingness to local Families battling cancer by offering financial and emotional support. Their Light of Hope Program pays household bills to ensure that families are able to stay in their homes, keep utilities on, phones working, and food on the table while they are dealing with cancer.

Reaching A Milestone

As we reflect on another successful year in 2025, I wanted to take the opportunity to say that we are extremely grateful for your generous contributions and your heartfelt support to our Foundation. Your continual patronage has allowed us to achieve the Foundation’s original objective which was to establish the Matty “Ice” Kelly ’03 Endowment at LaSalle College High School. Your generosity has empowered the Foundation to fully fund this Endowment and thus initiate a scholarship to a worthy student. In conjunction with LaSalle’s Administration, we are proud to announce that commencing with the school year 2026-2027, a scholarship will be granted to an incoming freshman soccer player. The Endowment is now positioned to make a four-year commitment to this student.

The Foundation’s mission is to honor Matt’s legacy and to perpetuate his passionate pursuit of always helping others in need. Since the Foundation was established in May 2023, we have successfully raised over $200,000. Thus far, our Board has approved donations totaling $135,000 to various organizations and to local families with children who suffer with serious medical conditions. We continue to explore donation opportunities that align with Matt’s values and the mission of our Foundation. Your generous contributions allow us to perpetuate Matt’s legacy by supporting organizations and individuals with significant need.

Your sponsorship to our Foundation may have come in the shape of your time or your talent or your financial support or perhaps a combination of all three. Whatever form this support has taken, I want to say that on behalf of our Board of Directors, please accept our sincere gratitude and appreciation for helping us achieve these initial milestones.
